OPTAGE has been providing high-speed, high-quality information and communications services with our own independent optical fiber network for many years based in the Kansai region, where has been attracting increasing interest from a diverse array of companies as "Japan’s No. 2 region."
Given this, we have decided to open Osaka Connectivity (OC1) in Sonezaki, at the center of Osaka, as a new connectivity data center capable of connecting to various access points.
In January 2026, we plan to begin operation of the new Sonezaki Data Center (OC1) in the Sonezaki area of Osaka City.
This data center has the following three features to meet the needs of a wide range of customers, including customers wanting low-latency connections to mega clouds and other data centers, audio, video and other content distribution providers, and cloud service providers.
Excellent connectivity to the cloud and internet
The data center is located within three kilometers of the Dojima and Shinsaibashi areas, which have access points to major mega clouds and internet exchange points (IXPs). By directly connecting to data centers in the areas using Optage’s highly reliable optical fiber network, we provide stable cloud connection services with low latency.
It’s also possible to reach additional areas by utilizing nearby areas’ DCI and network services.
-
Feature 01
High-quality,
low-latency environmentBy capitalizing on our own optical fiber network in Kansai, we will connect to major data centers using dark fiber and leased lines. Within the Sonezaki Data Center, we will configure a high-quality, low-latency network environment that will enable connection to IXPs and cloud business operators.
-
Feature 02
Carrier-neutral,
highly flexible serviceSince there are no restrictions on the line operators (carriers) that can be pulled into the rack, the communication environment can be freely constructed. We also provide data center operators with an environment that makes it easier to realize various network services by utilizing the rich optical fiber that we own.
-
Feature 03
Operating on virtually 100% renewable energy to be compatible with RE100
By utilizing the Renewable Energy Eco Plan (tracking included) provided by Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. while working to reduce power consumption through adoption of the latest high-efficiency air conditioning systems and energy-saving equipment, we will achieve operations powered by virtually 100% renewable energy. We will actively work to reduce CO2 emissions and establish a green, carbon-neutral data center that is considerate of the global environment.

-
Shinsaibashi POP
Thanks to the response we have had to the Sonezaki Data Center, we will be offering high-connectivity services in advance.
-
Feature 01
Close to the Dojima and Shinsaibashi areas
Shinsaibashi POP is located near the Dojima and Shinsaibashi areas, which have the largest concentration of communications traffic in Kansai. It provides stable, low-latency connectivity.
-
Feature 02
Interconnection with numerous cloud/IXP/ISP operators
We have established a redundant network connecting to the Dojima and Shinsaibashi areas, we can interconnect with numerous cloud, IXP, and ISP operators in each area in a short period of time.
-
Feature 03
Inexpensive connection service using our own fiber
By utilizing Optage’s highly reliable optical fiber network, customers can enjoy low-cost, ultra-high-speed, and wideband communications via dark fiber and leased line connections.
-
-
Enterprise-oriented data centers
Leveraging the know-how and scale advantages cultivated through years of data center operation, we provide housing, management, and hosting services.
Why Optage for a
connectivity center?
Because we have been using our own optical fiber to provide consumers and corporations with network services for many years.
-
Optage Backbone Network
To provide our customers with an environment that they can use with peace of mind, we aim to create a network configuration that takes into account subscriber growth and traffic. We will continue to strengthen our backbone network with a view to future global expansion.
-
Shima Landing Station
We provide bandwidth services using our own WDM equipment between Shima and Osaka. In addition, we provide services via our own route that avoids major areas (Matsusaka, Ise, Toba), thus enabling customers to utilize it as redundant lines.
In addition to providing high-speed, high-quality information and communications services via our own, independent optical fiber network, Optage provides other services such as storage services, which are attracting a great deal of interest recently.
