GMI Cloud （California, United States）, a pioneering AI-native GPU cloud provider, and OPTAGE Inc. (Chuo-ku, Osaka), a comprehensive information and communication service provider of the Kansai Electric Power Group, have agreed on a strategic partnership to establish the GMI Cloud Japan region.

GMI Cloud possesses the proprietary "GMI Cluster Engine" technology, which efficiently enables multi-tenancy in the virtualization technology field, a crucial element for providing GPU cloud services. Through this partnership, both companies will conduct a trial in Japan regarding the infrastructure construction and operation of this technology using GPU servers equipped with cutting-edge NVIDIA B200 chips.

In recent years, generative AI has been rapidly advancing in a wide range of fields, including image generation, natural language processing, and data analysis. Efficient operation of GPU servers is essential for the use of generative AI and is increasingly demanded.
This time, GMI Cloud, a pioneering AI-native GPU cloud provider with proprietary virtualization technology for cloud-based GPU server offerings, and OPTAGE, a comprehensive information and communication service provider of the Kansai Electric Power Group with data centers and communication networks, have agreed on a strategic partnership to accelerate AI adoption in enterprises and promote AI innovation in Japan.

GMI Cloud's proprietary “GMI Cluster Engine” technology, which enables multi-tenancy in InfiniBand GPU cluster environments with high bandwidth and low latency, will enable efficient operation of GPU servers and facilitate flexible procurement of Nvidia's B200 chips. Secure AI workload management will also enable secure protection of sensitive data processed by AI applications against cyber threats. GMI Cloud's "GPU Cloud Service" not only provides multiple physical servers on a bare-metal basis but also offers GPUs on a per-unit and per-hour basis. Additionally, immediate reservations and future reservations with specified dates and times can be made through the user management interface, enabling flexible service provision tailored to customers' usage periods and purposes.

About Trial

Towards the establishment of the GMI Cloud Japan region, utilizing OPTAGE's facilities in the Kansai area, the "GMI Cluster Engine" will be implemented on GPU servers equipped with NVIDIA B200 chips, conducting validation on infrastructure construction and operation. Upon completion of the validation, we plan to conduct paid trials of the GMI Cloud "GPU Cloud Service."
