Handling of Personal Information in Telecommunications Business

1. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

We use personal information within the scope necessary to conduct the following business:
(1) Concluding and carrying out contracts; verifying identities; confirming areas; inspecting received items or materials; studying and carrying out construction; shipping products; performing billing and fee collection; providing notification of fee and service condition changes, construction dates, service suspension/cancellation, and contract cancellation; and providing after-sales service and other services
(2) Sending information, questionnaires, prizes, etc., in relation to our products and services, those of our business partners, or those of Kansai Electric Power Group companies (see Note) via phone, email, post, or other medium
(3) Improving our products and services or developing new products and services
(4) Carrying out other work related to the business enumerated above
In addition, even after our various contracts with customers have ended, we may use personal information within the scope of the purposes of use stipulated in (1) to (4).

2. Supervision of Subcontractors

We may outsource clerical work related to the handling of personal information to outside parties. In such cases, we will take necessary measures, such as concluding non-disclosure agreements and performing supervision of subcontractors.

[1] In order to provide information on various services offered by Kansai Electric Power's group companies, develop and improve products and services, conduct various surveys and analyses for service improvement, respond to inquiries, and other related business operations, we may provide personal information that we hold (excluding matters related to the secrecy of communication and viewing history) to Kansai Electric Power's group companies in the form of data or documents. Please note that we will promptly stop providing personal information to Kansai Electric Power's group companies upon request from the individual.

[2] If fees and other obligations have not been paid, and after the contract has been canceled based on the mineo communication service contract terms and conditions, if fees and other obligations have not been paid, we will notify mobile phone carriers and BWA (broadband mobile radio access) service providers of personal information related to non-payers, such as name, address, telephone number, date of birth, payment status, etc., in data or in writing by using this information in the membership screening process when accepting contract applications, we aim to prevent recurrence of non-payment of fees and protect the fairness and interests of all users.

[3] For the purpose of carrying out business related to mobile number portability (MNP), your personal information, such as name, address, date of birth, mobile phone number, and other information related to MNP procedures, may be provided, in the form of data or documents, to mobile phone carriers.

[4] In response to requests from emergency call acceptance agencies such as the police, the Japan Coast Guard, or the fire department to search for people in need of rescue, we may provide personal information such as name, address, and information about the location from which the call was made, in the form of data or documents.

We jointly use your name, address, phone number, and retail and supply contract number (collectively, "basic information"), supply area of the General Electricity Transmission and Distribution Utilities that concludes the contract for wheeling service, etc., General Provisions for Isolated Island Service target, service (power receiving) point identification numbers, wheeling contract amount information, upper limit for current, connected power transmission service menu, power factor, supply method, wheeling contract determination method, meter information, leading-in pole numbers, presence or absence of grid connection equipment, date of wheeling supply contract change, meter reading date, contract status, and decommissioning method (collectively, "service (power receiving) point-related information"), and power generation sales volume, demand procurement volume, demand restraint volume, and baseline (collectively, "negawatt trading-related information") within the necessary range for the following purposes and limited to necessary business operators. We also receive information necessary for the implementation of connection supply from General Transmission and Distribution Utilities.

The party responsible for management of basic information is either the electricity retailer concluded a retail and supply contract or the general electricity transmission and distribution utility (in the case of basic information relating to customers receiving isolated island service or last resort service, it is the general electricity transmission and distribution utility). The party responsible for management of information regarding supply (power receiving) point is the general electricity transmission and distribution utility whose service area includes the supply (power receiving) point. The party responsible for negawatt trading-related information is the demand restraint contractor.

(Note 2) General electricity transmission and distribution utilities refer to Hokkaido Electric Power Network, Inc., Tohoku Electric Power Network Co., Inc., TEPCO Power Grid, Incorporated, Chubu Electric Power Grid Co., Inc., Hokuriku Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Company, Kansai Transmission and Distribution, Inc., Chugoku Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Company, Incorporated, Shikoku Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Company, Incorporated, Kyushu Electric Power Transmission and Distribution Co., Inc., and The Okinawa Electric Power Company, Incorporated.

(Note 3) Demand restraint contractors refer to operators that have concluded a demand restraint volume adjustment supply contract (including operators that have obtained a business code before concluding a contract) with general electricity transmission and distribution utilities. (Note 4) "Brokering the termination of retail and supply contracts" refers to when an electricity retailer that has received a new application for a retail and supply contract from a customer applies on behalf of the customer to the existing electricity retailer to cancel the retail and supply contract through the switching support system.
